Windy

"Nachr is the name. I have traveled from the west seeking meaningful work. I have heard of a rising need for mercenaries."

The centaur says as he offers his hand. Pointing towards the centre tower, Nachr says,

"I hope you are aware that you have a fully grown rock troll on your grounds, perhaps trampling on many a valuable manuscripts?"

Mish

"Wait, that makes me think of the mapmaker my dear officer. I suppose you know the poor guy, I met him today. Was he ever been to the guild, or even... the library, by chance? Do your best to encourage them to let me choose please." Says Bestaba as he reaches to his wallet.

Mesmeratio

"A rock troll? Really?" The old mage seems excited at the thought. "Ehr.. As for mercenary work, I can't think of anything, but there's a noticeboard at the inn with all kinds of odd jobs" The mage looks at the templars, who stare at him confused. "However, we do kind of have a little problem in our cellar.. something you might be able to help with."

"The mapmaker?" the templar looks confused. "I can't recall him ever visiting. I do know the archmage sometimes visits him and his brother and takes books on fey creatures with him. That's about it" He looks at Bestaba's hand questioningly "Sure, but there isn't much I can do anyway, temple is really fanatic with the magic stuff."

Glunnator

To rock trolls, all humans look alike. In fact, a large part of the distrust trolls feel toward the flesh-people comes from the fact that they look like slightly taller dwarves. Obsidian struggles to remember a detail that set the bird-man apart from this other man, and lacking the vocabulary ends up attempting to mime a long beard.

Mish

"Fair enough friendo!" says Bestaba as putting a silver on the table. "Thank you very much indeed for your help and information. I will sure take notice about the library. Tell me when the supervisors arrive". He walks out of the left building and heads to the central, vined Tower.

Windy

Nachr becomes quite curious and tries to survey Tourdion's expressions.* The centaur fails to glean any hints of disturbance and looks towards the templars saying,

"Hmm your cellars would have to be quite large for me to fit in!"

with a short breath, Nachr faces Tourdion squarely then bows slightly to say,

"I will gladly help if I can."

Glancing behind at Fabrice, Nachr asks,

"Is it safe for Fabrice to join us?"

"Hmmm, a beard?.." the elf looks at obsidian while putting the kettle on the stove. "Right, where where you when the birdman talked to you? Where you at home?"

The middle tower's door is overgrown with vines, blocking entrance.

Tourdion's expression is one of friendliness, you do not get the feeling he's untrustworthy. "Fabrice? Well, ehr, I'm not sure if Mr. Mann would agree with this course of action, it's his employee after all."

Glunnator

"Yes."
Obsidian becomes motionless.

Windy

"You have a fair point, wise... one. I will ask Mr. Mann immediately.
Do excuse me for a few moments.

Hold on to my belt, Fabrice!"

Nachr turns around and gallops across the square to approach the Inn's front door.

Mesmeratio

Bestaba puts the bottom of his staff which is marked with his academy's magical sign on the door.

The door remains in place motionless.

Bestaba knocks three times.

The door, however, remains in place motionless.

Bestaba calls "Can anyone please open the door for me? It won't open." Bestaba looks for some knocker on the door, but cannot find one. He sighs and looks back at the archmage again.

The archmage walks in a slow pace towards the door while looking at all kinds of flowers.

Bestaba calls towards the archmage "Could you please help me with this door? It won't open."

The archmage takes a flower in his old frail hands, says "Just a moment" and sniffs at the flower. He really seems to enjoy it and takes his time.

Bestaba can see the archmage staring at the flower, he even seems to whisper something but Bestaba is not sure.

The archmage struts towards the door. Nodding at Bestaba and asking "Having trouble with the plant, good sir?"

"Indeed. I am a guest, and my academy's mark won't open it, could you please help me?"

The archmage laughs "Well, she really doesn't care much for symbols, now does she?"

"So it seems, I suppose" says the little man. Bestaba ponders about the party-hat.

The archmage puts his hand in the inner pocket of his dressing gown, and takes out something that looks like a piece of candy "Here, try this" and hands it to Bestaba.

Bestaba examines the candy, and asks "what is this?"

"A piece of candy, of course"

“....." Bestaba examines the candy again.

The candy is of a pinkish colour, and smells sweet and sour. It's texture is a bit sticky, but it’s hard at the same time. You’d call this a drop.

Bestaba moves it so he sees all sides.

The archmage wonders at the gentleman's interest for candy.

Bestaba puts the candy in his mouth, not taking any effort to get any of the molten candy in, and examines taste. It's quite darned sweet-sour.

The archmage informs Bestaba "I do not think she likes her candy that way".

Bestaba takes candy out "Is it for the door??"

"Well, no, not for the door, what is blocking the door? Really, I never heard of a door liking candy before? Have you?"

The archmage takes out another piece of candy "Here, try again, and eat the other one".

Bestaba puts the candy in the ground nest to a vine and answers "No... Not a plant either"

The archmage seems quite baffled by the Gnome’s lack of insight "No. Give the candy to her."

"Her?" says Bestaba as he takes the candy he put in the ground back out. Bestaba is confused.

The archmage sighs, takes out another candy, and gives it to Bestaba. "Offer it to her"

"I am sorry for my lack of knowledge in the field of plant sciences, I should probably learn some from you. Could you explain farther?"

The archmage takes out another candy, lays the candy flat on his palm, and offers it to one of the magical purple plant's flowers.

Bestaba does the same.

A large tongue-like thing comes out of the flower, sticks to the candy, and gobbles it up. The flower salivates. It also eats the candy Bestaba offered. The plant retracts from the door, and the door swings open.

"Thank you. Is there by any chance a party is being planned?"

"A party? I wouldn't know of a party. But that's a splendid idea!" The archmage looks up and remarks "Just the thing I need, a party". He smiles and heads in.

Koozma

[OOC okay finally got this finished up. I'm going to be bowing out for a bit, much to do IRL and travel :P I can't post from my phone sadly :C ]

The hooded figure keeps there gaze from under the hood locked onto the druid as they continue to take steps away, keeping as much distance as possible from the man, and taking shaky breaths

Talon raises his staff and paints a circle in the sky with the tip

Skraw swoops in behind the figure and screeches behind her

The hooded figure takes several more steps back as she watches the odd motion the druid does. Suddenly she gasps loudly and turns, dropping to the ground hearing the bird rush in behind, before clambering back to her feet and bolts as fast as she could.

Talon reahces down and grabs a handful of dirt, and starts chanting in druidic and waving his arms as Skraw continues to track the figure.

The hooded figure looks back for a moment at her attacker and keeps running, running further into the woods and tries to dart for thicker trees.

Talon throws the dirt away, it turning to ashes in his hands. Taking a firm grasp of his staff he runs after the figure, faster than any human should.

The hooded figure looks back again to see the distance she thought she gained was quickly closing, and attempted to change her direction again at the next break in the trees, heading right for one of the large humming stones. She seeks to either take shelter or dissapear behind the large stone, darting around and hugging close, notcing a sudden change to the world around her.

Talon charges towards the stone, pushes off it and slides to a rapid stop, but he too notices the world start to change and a feeling of unease grips him.

The hooded figure lets out what would be a shriek if sound could be heard, as she sees the druid appear suddenly from around the stone, and darts to keep it between them, ignoring the change in color as she thinks her eyes are failing her and keeps focused on the pursuer.

Talon glaces at the world round him as the colour drains out of it. He cautiously approaches the stone, reaching out with his hand.

Skraw, staying ever vigilant, keeps his eyes on the figure.

The hooded figure catches sight of the young man as she tries to keep behind the stone from him, and quickly realizes he's not the reason why her hearing and sight are going. She carefully uses the moment to try and disappear into the thicker trees again

Skraw squawks a warning to Talon but the sound is lost on the druids ears and the hawk flies to Talon and beats his wings in front of his face.

Talon shakes his head, notices the disappearing figure and gives chase.

The hooded figure attempts to seek a place to hide in the thickets, but as the sounds of the world seem to come rushing back once again she hears the sounds of the man and bird again, and realizes there is little time to bother and keeps running.

Talon is closing in on the figure as Skraw reaches out to grab the figure's hood in his talons, missing as she ducks under a low branch, and as misses again as she suddenly turns to the side and heads for another of the stones.

But as she starts to loose her energy from the constant running, she suddenly gasps loudly as she finds herself jerked back from the neck, as the hood is yanked away, partly choking her as the bird manages to take hold on it's third attempt, and she sees the sky through the trees for a moment.

Taking advantage of Skraw's inititive, Talon slams against the figure, bringing them to the ground.

She only catches a glimps of the druid with a hazel green eye before becoming dazed and struggling for air moments later, now on the ground and at the mercy of the man.

Talon secures the figure then, taking a firm grasp, drags her to a nearby tree. Taking out a sharpened bone from the folds of his cloak and cuts some vines off the tree.

The woman attempts to struggle, but is far to winded and exhausted to break loose as she is half dragged along.

Talon binds the figure's legs together and ties her hands behind the tree with the vines. "I apologize for the binds but I don't want to risk you bolting again. I'm Talon. What do you call yourself?"

The captive girl attempts to struggle against the binds for a few moments before hanging her head in defeat, messy long hair falling over her face as she does all she can to hid it, and does not respond to Talon's question but seems to shrink back more.

"Not going to talk, huh?" He asks, she turns her face way even more. "Well, there are some things you should probably know." He walks to a tree opposite the girl and sits down against it. "There are undead amassing just south of here. The woods around here aren't safe for travellers anymore. S, that begs the question: why do you walk this path?"

The captive girl can only sit where she is, keeping her face turned away still,but appears to be shivering more and more as she gets past her inital panting for air.

As Talon talks to the girl, he finally gets to have a good look at her. She turns out to be a rather small human, or human like, female. It is hard to be exact because she has long wavy hair, quite messy and tangled up falling over her face. It is a very dark blond color. Exact height is hard to tell, but she is far smaller then Talon, and from handling her before, he realizes she is very thin, maybe around 90lbs(40.8kg), both her wrists could be held in one hand. the over sized cloak is tangled about her, but good portons of her her neck, shoulders and legs can be seen, including the very warn out shoes she had. She is very pale, likely from hiding from the sun inside the cloak for so long. She is trembling under her binds, and it is obvious she has a voice from how she coughs from the chase's stress setteling on her. He notes she also had dropped a large brown sack back where she was tackled along with the dagger she had been clutching before.

Talon talks for a while, telling the girl what he knew about the undead, the witch and her 'kid.' Afterwards, he forgets why he started talking and continues talking about anything he can think of spanning from the druids to Skraw, to the woods and what he remembers of his childhood. After so many long years of silence, he needed to talk, not caring who to or what about. Several hours later, Talon finally runs out of things to say. She remained quiet during the whole time, but her body has stilled from it's trembling, and she seems to be listening as he talks, sometimes twitching or cringing at points related to some of the frightening characters he talks of them. The captive girl seems to be paying close attention the more he talks, and is perhaps watching him, not having moved much, and her face still mostly hidden behind her hair, but she does not seems to be trying to shrink way away anymore like she once was.

Noticing the girl's change in attitude, Talon smiles. Then his stomach grumbles and he suddenly realizes he hasn't eat yet this afternoon. Standing up, he says "I'm going to need to find something to eat. are you hungry?"

As the sun sets further and further behind the expanse of trees she shutters a little as a cool breeze picks up, and attemps to curls her legs up closer and shift her cloak to be over her more again.

"Is that a no?" he asks. "Well then, will you be ok there if I go and find some food?" She seems to be torn as to how to respond, but remains silent. "Can't you even nod or shake your head?"

She pauses for a long moment, before a small nod is seen.

Koozma

Talon smiles again. "Ok, I shouldn't be long." Raising his arm as he starts walking away. Skraw perches on his hand and Talon says in druidic, "Fly around and look for food but don't stray too far from the girl. Keep an eye on her at all times. She seems to be a bit more trusting now but I want to be sure she stays put." Skraw takes off and follows his orders and Talon heads off into the trees.

She watches him from the corner of her eye as he walked away. Soon sighing tiredly as he fade into the dark and lifts her head up to look around her. Biting her lip she attempts to work against her restrains around her wrists, letting out a small wimpier in pain as they cut in more. But continues to try and loosen the binds around her wrists, withering in pain from time to time from her shoulders, now starting to lock up from being pulled back so long. after a short while of fighting the vines she sighs, dropping her head and attempts to just shift, sitting up straighter to take the strain off her joints.

Talon comes back to the tree where he left the girl. He doesn't seem to have any food with him.

Seeing him return suddenly she seems to grow shy again, turning her head away a little as she had before.

As he approaches the girl, Talon reaches into his cloak and pulls out the bone knife again. He goes around to the back of the tree and cuts the binds around the girl's wrists.

She takes in a sharp breath of air at the sight of the knife and tenses suddenly, but almost falls over as the binds around her wrists fall away.

Talon moves in front of her, reaching into his pockets again. He takes his hand out, now holding an assortment of nuts and berries instead of the knife.

The captive girl then slowly brings her hands around in font of her, rubbing at her wrists, looking pained for a bit.

Talon kneels down and offers the nuts and berries to the girl. "You sure you're not hungry?"

She looks to his held out hands, then up at him. her face is more viable now, hazel green eyes searching over the assortments he had and back to his face trying to figure out what to do at the moment. She then reluctantly reaches up and takes a few of the nuts and berries in her long thin fingers. As she slowly starts to nibble at the berry, a very soft "thank you" could be heard under her breath.

Talon smiles, stands up and says "You're welcome." He looks up at the sky and sees the stars starting to shine through the trees. He sits back down against the tree and finishes the berries he had left.

The girl seems to follow his motion and looks up as well, the hair fallen from her face for the time, then pulls the cloak around her more, hiding in it's heavy folds once again, she has yet to pull the hood up.

Talon, seeing the girl's face properly for the first time, realizes how pretty she looks in the moonlight, despite all the dirt covering her face. He gulps audibly and stares at her for a few seconds before shaking his head and looking away.

The girl seems weary, looking around a little and to him. She seems to sigh again and shifts, eying in the dark where her stuff still lay, now looking from it to him nervously a few times. She then slowly moves to stand up in order to retrieve her things but stops, feeling down at her ankles and pulling the cloak back enough to realize she still had them tied up.

Talon watches the girl curiously, answering as she looks to him. "Hmm? Do you want something?" She looks town at her feet again. And then to her things over to the side. "You want the vines cut?" She nods. "Can you promise me you won't run away if I do cut them?"

After a short pause of thought she gives a solid nod in response. "ok then." Talon says, standing up he moves towards the girl with the knife in his hand; kneels down in front of her and slowly cuts the vines from around her ankles.

She seems to tense up as he approaches, but as the bindings are cut away she shifts, rubbing at her feet and waits for the feeling to return.

Talon stands up and looks into the girl's eyes. "thank you for trusting me. I see how hard it is for you"

She looks up at him and gives a slight nod, again. And after a minuet, she slowly gets to her feet, a little wobbly at first, but she slowly walks over to her things, bends down and picks up near empty sack in her arms and shuffles back to where she once sat.

Talon walks back over to his tree, leans against it and looks up at the sky again.

The girl shifts and hides the sack back in her arms under the cloak, pulling it around her tightly and soon flips the hood back over, seemingly hunkering down against the tree to keep warm.

As he stands there, Talon too starts to feel the chill of the night so he pulls his cloak around him and curls up at the base of the tree.

She visibly shifts as if deeply sighing once more as she hides away inside the cloak, but soon falls still at the base of the tree.
Talon, watching the girl, smiles and says "Sleep well" before falling asleep himself.

Mish

note that the events in town take place during evening
Bestaba enters the building together with the archmage and asks him "What would you consider the best place to start my visit in? In the library or maybe better of to start elsewhere? I would also be very thankful if you would kindly teach me some more about plants somewhen, as you seems to have vast knowledge in the field."

Mesmeratio

The elf keeps on making tea, without looking at the stone troll "Can I ask you where your home is? Where do you live?"

Fabrice seems a bit dazed and confused from everything that's happening. At the inn entrance stands the patron. He's talking to the man in the apron from before. The mapmaker sits next to the man in the apron. As Nachr approaches, the patron turns to him "Found everything you where looking for, sir?"

"Plants? I know what to feed them, yes, but vast knowledge? No. If you want vast knowledge of plants, go to the temple gardener." The archmage takes the hallway to the right, and walks towards the library. "Also, this might be a good place to start".

Glunnator

"Cave in rock. I sleep dere sometimes. Dat my home."
after a moment, Obsidian adds,
"Dis place your home?"

Mish

"Splendid, thank you very much!" says Bestaba, walking to the library with the archmage.

Mesmeratio

[Bestaba and Obsidian are now in the exact same ROOM]

The elf turns to Obsidian. "Yes, I live here, together with all the other mages, one big happy familiy." The elf at the table snorts behind her book.

The archmage walks in and addresses the two elves."Ah, miss Greensleeves, mr Walkure, I see we have a visitor? It ís time for a party then?"

Glunnator

<small>[the exact same spot? Back in the day of UT, we called that a telefrag. For the sake of the RP I'll just assume they're not actually physically occupying the same point in spacetime and are in fact just standing pretty close.][/smartassery]</small>

Obsidian first turns to the elf at the table, noticing her presence for the first time, then turns again to peer at the other two figures closing in. He starts getting a little finicky and nervous, never having been outnumbered in a confined space before.
"You... all mages?" he ventures.

Windy

With a quick turn and a slight grunt, Nachr lifts Fabrice and places him on the ground by his hooves.

"You might be more comfortable on your feet again!"

says Nachr and pats the boy on the head.

"Thank you Mr. Mann"

Nachr says as he bows to the patron.

"Your friends have helped me much this evening!"

"I believe I'm not acquainted to my helper and his friend. I'm Nachr, a travelling centaur mercenary from the west."

Nachr offers his hand to the man in an apron while addressing the mapmaker as well. The centaur is reminded of the spectacle at the square as the mapmaker's green jester hat swishes about. Unable to restrain himself, he lets out an audible chuckle.

Mesmeratio

Both the elves nod in agreement. "Only part-time" the archmage remarks absent-mindedly. "What's your name then, my rocky friend?"

Fabrice seems quite happy to be back on his own legs. The patron chuckles.

The man in the apron takes the centaur's hand and introduces himself. "I'm Karl, not to be confused with ser Kerl" he glances behind you at the statue. "And this-" he gestures to the mapmaker "is my brother, Kevven. And don't worry about it, those brats always make trouble, it is time I released some automatons on them, that'll keep 'em in place." Karl looks up, as if pondering the possibilities.
